This is a 1992 Addams Family Pinball Machine by Williams.  This is perhaps the best pinball machine ever made and is certainly going to be on just about any pinball collector's or pinball lover's top 10 list, if not top 5.  They just don't get any better than this.  This machine is of course based off the movie The Addams Family.  There are so many things to do and so many cool features that pinball players of all ages and skill levels will be entertain, yet challenged at the same time.  One very neat feature is "Thing", the hand that comes out of the red box in the upper right corner to grab balls.  The speech is amazing and very entertaining.  Magnets under the playfield is the orange area push the ball around when in multiball and other modes. 2 and 3 ball multiball, 4 flippers, and one game controlled flipper in a certain mode (the machine actually flips the flipper for you).  Simply one of the best pinball machines out there.

This machine came to us from a collector and is in incredible condition for its age and popularity.  These machines again are very popular and got a lot of play over the years, but this one was spared the tons of play that many of its cousins received.  The cabinet is near mint, with only a few nicks on the left side of the cabinet and head.  The only real flaw on the machine is the top left of the main ramp, which had been broken and glued at some point in it's life.  This is not in the area where the ball travels, but on the corner where a flasher bulb is located.  It seems to have happened at some point in the machine's life probably when the playfield was raised and it hit something.  It does not affect game play and the main ramp is still available at some companies that sell game specific parts and/or repro ramps.  Pictures of the ramp and scratches on the left side of the cabinet are at the end of the thumbnails.   The playfield is simply beautiful.  The only flaw is in the top rear where the ball lands as it comes out of the ball launch lane.  The rest of the playfield is immaculate.  Even the scoop holes look wonderful.  The scoop under the electric chair on these machines is usually very worn around the edges, which is normal from a high volume of play.  This machine is again in excellent condition and working 100%.

Addams Family broke all sales records for any pinball machines made.  In total, 20,270 units were made.  It was so popular that 2 years later in 1994, Williams actually started production back up with a special run of "Gold Edition" machines, which had gold legs, rails, bolts, ramps, thing box, bookcase, and a gold plate on the cabinet.

It has been said that after the sales record was broken, but before the "Gold Edition" 2 years later, that Williams began making Addams Family machines with gold accents on the body, meaning gold lettering and lightning.  We had never seen any Addams Family that lived up to the rumor until now.  This machine is a non "Gold Edition" that has Gold accents on the body.  I'm not sure how many were made that live up to this rumored description, but I do know that we have never seen another.  The serial numbers to the boards and body all match.
